So another day has come to an end.

What I'm thinking is that there are a finite number of days remaining for each of us.... I'm not depressed or feeling discouraged. I'm feeling like it's important to use each hour of each day to its best advantage. I mean, looking back at your own life, think of the days you spent doing nothing. Or worse yet, the days you spent doing things wrong. Don't you wish you had spent them doing good for others, for the world, even for yourself?

Okay then, what about tomorrow. Oh, I know you have plans already in place for the day maybe the week or the month or the year. I don't think yo need to throw all that out. I don't even see a need for you to shrink the list or lower the priority--I think rather that you can find an amazing number of moments that are just floating or lying unnoticed that could be put toward the good that you plan today. If your plans for good are always lurking just behind your current focus, opportunities to put some good plan into action will present themselves to you many times per day. You will still accomplish the goals you already have but as you look back on the past days or weeks or years, you will be able to see that you improved all that time that would either have been wasted by neglect or by selfishness.

That kind of focus is tiresome at first. But like any muscle you haven't used a lot before, after a period of time you'll not even notice it. Try it. It works.
